About Us

Troop 39 is a boy-run Boy Scout troop in Morris Plains, New Jersey.   This means the Scouts, not the adults, are the leaders – they decide what trips they are going to take, elect their own leaders, and make their own decisions about how the troop is run. Through our Scouting program, members learn about camping, leadership, and all of the things that Boy Scouts have been doing since 1910, including becoming a man in the best sense of the word. The Scouts of Troop 39 camp year round, they go on high adventure trips such as canoeing, backpacking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting; but most of all, they have FUN – and we have been doing it since 1930!

Troop 39 belongs to the Fishawack District of Patriots' Path Council, Boy Scouts of America.  We are proud to be chartered by the Presbyterian Church of Morris Plains since the troop's founding, and meet at the church Monday nights from 7:15 to 9:00 pm.
